The Clan of the S'chn R'xun : One of the Seven Great Vulcan Clans. While the High Command is ruling government, the Seven clans remain the traditional ancient leaders of Vulcan. It is through them that the ancient cultures of their people survive and maintain. They are subject to law by the High Command but are given a few liberties in their 'domains'
----

Founded: Some thousand years before the time of the Great Awakening, the R'xun broke away from the main clan of the S'chn T'gai of the East and traveled to the North where they spent the next two hundred years in isolation as a warrior clan; It was not until Sudoc did they finally settle in the West and built one of the most empire of the Ancient Vulcan World.

----

K'-Ek'-Tvai (By All Means)
That is the motto of the clan, as established by Sudoc. He let it be known to his sons that so long as a single S'chn R'xun drew breath that they must always seek to protect the survival and advancement of the clan no matter what the cost may be. He proved this time and time again when he was willing to go to war against much larger clans in order to expand his own; and he succeeded although it cost the lives of thousands upon thousands of Vulcans, both warriors and innocents.

----

Based: The Go'an desert on Han'Shir, the Mountain city of Goh Heya (Lone Mountain): The S'chn R'xun rule their city from grand palace that had been constructed during the time of S'chn R'xun Sudoc; it was often expanded by other clan leaders over the years until it reached its current state. The estate is known as Yel Pa'lati  (Sun Palace). The palace has the shape of an elongated rectangle, and its principal façade is 250 m long and 100 ft (30 m) high. The Palace has been calculated to contain 1,800 doors, 2000 windows, 1,500 rooms and 120 staircases.

----

Traditional Government: Monarchy (Ruled by a High King and administrated by a Council of Elders): During it nomadic times the clan was ruled over by a single Chief and upon his death, the title was immediately passed down to the eldest child, meaning that it could go to either a son or daughter. But upon its permanent establishment in Han-shir, Sudoc dismissed that tradition, he issued that from henceforth only males could ever rule the clan, stating that 'Females should know their place, at the foot of the throne, not on it.'  The Council of Elders is made up of 12 clan members who are elected to their position by other members of the council and approved by the reigning King, they supervise the day to day activities and act upon the laws and rules established by the King

----

Members: (Main) Saketh, Ta'nara, Sarin, T'mara, Sarkin, Sakonna:  These are members of the clan who are direct issues from the reigning King or are next in line to inherit the throne. The current line goes follows High King Saketh, his oldest son Sarin is the heir apparent, his grandson Sarkin is second in line to take the throne. Sarin's daughter; Sakonna, since she is a female she is not eligible to make claim to the throne unless she produces a son.
Members:  (Branch) Sitek, Talok, T'para, Tarlok, Azroth, T'pai, Sutaric, T'irina: the aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Main House members. They have a right to issue claims and challenges to throne, however that rarely happens in modern times.

----

Clan Artifacts:
1. Sword of Sajik: forged from the metal of a fallen star, is said to be capable of slaying non-corporeal  beings.
2. Crown of Sudoc:  a simple golden circlet set with four emerald gems on all four sides. It is presented to each High King upon their coronation.
3. Rod of Sudoc: A staff made from petrified wood and topped with silver. It is used during council meetings, when the High King makes a verdict, he strikes the staff on the floor three times, should no one challenge his decision, then the meeting is declared over.
4. Ring of Sudoc: a golden ring with a jet black stone in the center, it bears the crest of the clan and is used mark official clan documents as a sign of being approved by the Ruling family.
5. Sash of Sudoc: an article of fabric woven with golden and emerald colored thread. It is worn by the head of the Clan as a symbol of their status, the other members of the family wear orange and black sashes.

----

Laws of the Clan:
1. Rite of Challenge:  If at one point, a member of the ruling family sees that the High King is unable to preform their duties as needed for the survival of the clan, then said member (so long as they are of the male gender) may challenge the High King for the right of the throne. Victory goes to the last member standing as does the Throne, the loser shall be stripped of their title and rank and banished forever to the desert.
2. Rite of Succession: The throne has for 125 rulers, gone to a male heir, for only a male may be declared High King. Should however the Heir Apparent, upon ascending to the throne, fail to produce a mail heir by the time of their death; then the throne shall be passed to the eldest next of kin male.
3. Rite of Power: (Before establishment of High Command) The High King is the supreme absolute authority, none shall stand above him, only below him. His power is given by divine right of the gods and only they may stand to judge him.
4. Rite of Military: (Before establishment of High Command) The High King serves as the Master Commander over all soldiers who have taken up arms in his name. His officers shall issue orders to the legions while they take their orders from the King alone.

----

Rule by Divine Right
Like with most monarchies, the monarchs of the S'chn R'xun have claimed their power was granted to them by divine beings. The modern Vulcan has rejected these claims as being superstitious drivel. But in ancient times, primitive Vulcans feared the power of Sha-Ka-Re and its gods. When Sudoc brought his clan down from the North, he know that to just claim his power would not be satisfactory, so he sought the aid of small sect of Gol. He said he would expand their influence and build them shrines for worship if they aided him. So the leaders of the sect, created a posh and pompous ceremony (Still practiced and observed by every member of the ruling family) in which one is crowned High King of the S'chn R'xun and given divine rule over the realm.

The Ceremony
1. The heir apparent is to stand at the foot of the stairs to the tower of Ascension (a the tallest structure in the city that serves as the main temple of the Monks of the Clan) for an entire night until daybreak. He is to not eat or drink anything, nor may he sit. He must remain standing at all times.
2. Upon the rising of the sun, the heir apparent must shed all of his clothing, save for his undergarment. He must remove the traces of his former life from his being.
3. When the sun has reached its highest point, the heir must being to walk up the steps of the tower, he may not stop to rest nor are for any to follow or assist him. The journey must be made by him alone.
4. Upon his reaching of the top, the heir shall be bathed in the sacred pool, where his past shall be washed away from him and so that he might be reborn.
5. The heir shall be dressed in the traditional and honored clothing of the station he is about to be entrusted with by the Holy Order of Monks.
6. The heir shall be presented with the articles and tools that are required as symbols of his station and power, only he or member of the Holy Order of Monks shall over touch these items.
7. Upon the setting of the sun, the heir shall stand at the ledge and look down upon his people as the leader of the Holy Order of Monks reads from the sacred scrolls.
8. As the final rays of sun vanish from the sky, the crown is to be placed upon the heirs head and the following words spoken by the leader of the Holy Order of Monks. 'The Era of XX has faded with the light, we now welcome the era of XX; Long Live the High King of the clan of the S'chn R'xun.'
9. The High King will then descend from the tower, escorted by the Holy order of Monks.
10. At the base of the stairs, the Throne of the Clan will have been moved from its proper place for this occasion, and the new High King will sit in it, marking the official start of his reign.

In The Service of the Clan

While the blood of the S'chn R'xun has dwindled down to a few mere handfuls, there are thousands of Vulcans who are in service to the clan. They are the decedents of the smaller clans that were either destroyed, enslaved, or absorbed by the S'chn R'xun in ancient times and forced in indentured Serfdom until the time of the Great Awakening when they were set free, but many continued to serve the S'chn R'xun. Occupying various traditional roles, acting from Ambassadors to other clans to simple servants or even as honorary guards.

----

Titles and Honors of the Clan
1. Pid  Sa-te'kru t' S'chn R'xun (High King of the S'chn R'xun)
2. Tarkiv Te'kru t' S'chn R'xun (Crown Prince of the S'chn R'xun)
3. Reldai t' S'chn R'xun (Princess of the S'chn R'xun)
4. Ko-te'kru t' S'chn R'xun (Queen of the S'chn R'xun)
5. Pid Fru'tinx t' S'chn R'xun (High Priest of the S'chn R'xun)
6. S'haile  t' Shikh-orna (Lord of the Council)

The ruler of the S'chn R'xun possesess a number of traditional ancient titles and is addressed by them in the most formal of states. The address is as follows.
'His Royal Majesty, XX Son of XX, and Grandson of XX. High King of the S'chn R'xun, Lord of the Go'an desert, Viceroy of Han-Shir, Regent of Goh Heya, Master of the Varoth Sea, Keeper of the Sword of Sajik, and direct decedent of the ancient Warlord and First High-King, S'chn R'xun Sudoc.'

However it is very rare that all of these titles are used together since very few of them still hold merit. The High King is simply referred to as "your Highness" or "Your Majesty"
This is a list of information for a fictional Vulcan clan that I created for my Star Trek character; S'chn R'xun Sarkin.
